About Chef Drew

Drew developed a passion for cooking at a young age. His first restaurant job came at 17 years old in an upscale steak house in Virginia. After working in various kitchens, his quest for learning led him to enroll at Johnson & Wales University in Charleston to pursue an education in culinary arts and hotel and restaurant management. He was a part of the last graduating class from the Charleston campus before the school moved to Charlotte, NC. Through working different positions in the front and back of the house in hotels, restaurants, country clubs, and college campuses, Drew gained experience and a thorough knowledge of food, wine, beer, and mixology. He continues to be a student of the game, soaking up inspiration from chefs all over the world. It is a personal goal for him to continue learning the latest styles, techniques, and ingredients that professional cooks are using. He has a fascination with authentic international cuisine and culture. He believes in a philosophy that food is the thing that transcends all boundaries and binds everyone together.

We had an amazing dinner with chef Drew! The gumbo was incredible- best any of us had ever had. It’s obvious that Drew has a passion for cooking and it shows in the presentation of every course we were served. The mahi mahi was super fresh and prepared perfectly and the cream brûlée was a delicious finish to a great night!

Chef Drew and Ed were such a great part of our vacation. The process of booking, communicating and the prep/serving was just so easy and enjoyable. It was so nice to just have the "night off" from any cooking and cleaning, and not to mention a delicious alternative!

Chef Drew’s menu was delicious! He even included ingredients from him own garden. Drew was also a great sport in going along with bachelorette shenanigans. It was a perfect activity for a celebration weekend.

Drew was fantastic! Everything he made was absolutely delicious and we could not have asked for a better experience for my sister's bachelorette party. You have to try his homemade gnocchi, they are to die for. THANKS DREW!!!!!! :)

We did the Italian dinner with Chef Drew last night and he was FANTASTIC! Everything was beyond fresh and delicious! He was highly personable and created the most incredible experience for us! As a new mom of a 3 month old baby (during a pandemic as well!) it is tough to go out to restaurants. We will absolutely be booking with him again!!

We are so happy that we booked Drew McGarity for a private dinner. His food was amazing, from the starters to the main course (especially the fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits). Drew was very personable and explained every dish. He was very organized and professional yet also kept the evening low key and a fun evening for us and our friends. Also, he easily accommodated one person's food allergy. We will definitely book Drew again and look forward to it!
