About
Chef Daniel
Chef Daniel started out in the kitchen helping his mother bake and cook weekly meals. Daniel's first job in the industry was as a dishwasher and discovered his passion for cooking. While working up the "ladder" he realized he had a natural knack for creating and combining flavors. Daniel quickly became a Sous Chef a few years after he started to cook. Daniel decided to increase his learning by attending the culinary school L'Academie de Cuisine in Gaithersburg MD. This Culinary school focused on classic French techniques while implenting the new era of cooking. It was here when Daniel first started to hone his craft while mastering classic techniques and flavor building. Fat, Sweet, Salt and Bitter is the driving force of good food that Daniel tries to implement into every dish. After attending school Daniel worked in many restaurants including Antrim 1844 under Chef Michael Gettier, Citronelle under Chef Michael Richard, Clarity under Chef Jason Maddens, Chef John Krinn and Chef Nick Palermo. Daniel then took his skills to Frederick MD and has been the Executive Chef at The Tasting Room and Firestone's Culinary Tavern. During his tenure in Frederick Daniel Implemented Weekly Tasting menus including custom wine paired dinners. He wrote multiple seasonal menus to really have a seasonal menu. Working closely with farmers and specialty meat programs he always had what was in season on the menu. Daniel has recently stepped away from the professional kitchen atmosphere to bring back his passion. Although working in a restaurant has been incredibly fulfilling, he felt his passion wasn't being appreciated as much as it could be on a more intimate level. Daniel wants to share his passion with you and get back to what he fell in love with to begin with; being in the kitchen more with the people who appreciate the food.
